What is Angryteach?

Well, it’s not teachers flipping out at students (though we have all been there), it’s more of teachers being angry at the state of education.  We as teachers get the blunt of every problem that education has to offer and quite frankly we are sick of it.  The state of US education is an interesting one, we are the richest country in the world yet we have some of the lowest performing students in any developed nation.  Somehow teachers are the source and the cure for these problems.   We are the front line, the grunt workers and most likely the scape goat for  poor performance and failing schools.  However, much like any job out there, the problem is more complex than it seems.  Hopefully you get something out of this site.  Be it a new perspective on teaching, some helpful tips in controlling your classrooms or finding a really cool lesson plan.  I hope this site finds you well!

How are we different then all the bazillion (technical term of course) blogs out there?

Well, some of us are not contractually obligated to be PC.  We can tell you how it is to be a teacher: the long hours, the terrible pay and the joys and the sorrows of everyday life.
