Obama Comments of Race Inequality in Education

With his recent visit to NYC, one of the most segregated school districts in the country, President Obama made comments about closing the achievement gap, student drop out rates, and performance.  I find it hilarious that NYC believes that their students are improving while a national study suggests otherwise.  I don’t think score a raw score of 33% on a state exam would constitute as proficient in ANYTHING.  We need more of a student cultural revolution for any type of performance increase.  When a student thinks he/she has a higher success rate as a basketball player/rapper than studying, then we have failed our students
